Elua's Story

Picture
Elua is the main deity of Terre D'Ange. His only precept is "Love as thou Wilt". He was born of the blood of Yeshua (Jesus) and the tears of Magdalene and nurtured in Earth's womb. You can read his full story and the creation of Terre D'Ange here.
The story of the D'Angelines being children of angels was inspired by the legends of the Nephilim and a story in the book of Genesis. In the biblical version, angels lusted after the "daughters of man". The angels came to earth and made love to women. Children of these unions became known as the Nephilim. The Nephilim were demonic and enslaved humankind, turning them against God. They encouraged polytheistic worship and idolatry and taught humankind things like magic, divination and metalworking.
Sex and enjoying sexual activities is seen as a bad thing. It turns people against God and causes them to think only of themselves. The demonic offspring are a consequence of having sex, a punishment. If you are going to be enjoying sex, expect bad things to happen.
In Kushiel's Dart, the angels leave God because they pity Elua and come to love him. Naamah had sex with humans to help Elua. When they settled in Terre D'Ange, they taught people because they came to love them and wanted to help them. Their children were created out of love and they were beautiful. The angels gave humankind civilization. Because love is the only holy rule of Terre D'Ange, sex is considered a sacred act and all forms of love are acceptable. The angel sex did not result in evil and chaos, but love and beauty.
